Job summary

Wō Ora Montessori School in Wellington is seeking a Permanent, Part Time PE Teacher (0.40 FTE) to join a friendly and collaborative teaching team. Requirements include NZ teacher registration and knowledge of the NCEA Health and PE curriculum for years 11–13, with experience across a wide age range being advantageous.

The role is eligible for the Teacher Bonding Scheme, providing up to $40,000 over five years.

Qualifications

• NZ teacher registration must be current.
• Knowledge of NCEA Health and PE curriculum (Yr11-13).
• Experience teaching across a wide range of ages (primary to high school) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach PE to both primary and high school students.
• Part-time role: 0.40 FTE with on-site hours Tue/Thu 9:00–11:45 and 12:30–3:30; on-site 8:30–12 and 12:30–3:30 as required.
• Attend necessary meetings as scheduled in the school calendar.

Wō Ora Montessori School is an Area School in Lower Hutt, Wellington, catering for 300 tamariki and the only Montessori School in New Zealand that nurtures children from 0-18 years. We are a community based school with close connections to our whānau.

We seek a Permanent, Part Time PE Teacher (0.40FTTE) to join our friendly and collaborative teaching team. You must meet the following requirements:

• NZ teacher registration
• Knowledge of NCEA Health and PE curriculum (Yr11-13)
• As this position involves teaching Primary School and High School ākonga, prior experience teaching acrossa wide range of age groups would be an advantage

This position qualifies for the Teacher Bonding Scheme (TBS). The eligible teacher recruited into this vacancy will receive annual payments accumulating to a maximum of $40,000 (before tax) over 5 years. See Teacher Bonding Scheme for more information.

Hours of Work

Tuesdays and Thursdays

9.00am–11.45am with the expectation you are onsite 8.30am–12pm (High School)

12.30pm–3.00pm with the expectation you are onsite 12.30pm – 3.30pm (Primary School)

You will also be expected to attend necessary meetings after school until 4.30pm when scheduled in the school calendar (3-4 per term).

Wō Ora Montessori School is close to community facilities that can be used for teaching the programme e.g. Walter Nash, Te Ngaengae (Naenae) Pool; Naenae Park; Hutt Valley Badminton Hall.

The position is for a start date of 28 th January, 2027 (beginning of Term 1).
