Job summary

Westport Deep Sea Fishing School is seeking reliable full-time Yoga & Fitness Instructors in New Zealand. Starting pay is NZ$30 to NZ$40 per hour, based on experience, for at least 30 hours a week, with overtime paid at the same rate.

You will develop tailored fitness programs, lead sessions, and guide clients in strength, flexibility and wellbeing. Join a team delivering a range of wellbeing services while maintaining safety standards and a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of yoga or fitness instruction experience.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and engage clients.
• Flexible with evenings and weekend classes.
• Pre-employment drug test and police check required.

Responsibilities

• Develop tailored yoga and fitness programmes based on clients’ fitness levels, health conditions and individual goals.
• Lead yoga, fitness and group exercise sessions for clients of different ages and fitness levels.
• Demonstrate and teach appropriate body movements, stretching, breathing techniques and mindfulness practices.
• Monitor clients’ progress and adjust training programmes where required.
• Provide guidance and encouragement to help clients improve strength, flexibility, fitness and general wellbeing.
• Monitor clients during training sessions to help prevent injuries and provide basic first aid where required.
• Maintain a positive, welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants.
• Support client engagement and membership retention activities
• Keep up to date with relevant fitness, health and safety practices and industry developments.
• Ensure training activities are carried out in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.

Successful students are facilitated into paid employment in the seafood industry; thishowever is dependent on usual employment practices, Company and vesselavailability.

Starting wages ranging from 60 – 70k per year depending on trip lengths.

Starting pay is $30 to $40 per hour, based on experience, for at least 30 hours a week; however, this will be reviewed periodically. Any overtime will be paid at the above pay rate. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a widerange of related tasks, including:

• Develop tailored yoga and fitness programmes based on clients’ fitness levels, health conditions and individualgoals.
• Lead yoga, fitness and group exercise sessions for clients of different ages and fitness levels.
• Demonstrate and teach appropriate body movements, stretching, breathing techniques and mindfulnesspractices.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• At least one year of relevant work experience in yoga instruction, fitness training, group exercise or one-on-one training. Alternatively, a relevant qualification.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ability to motivate and engage clients.
• Ability to work with clients of different fitness levels and individual needs.
• A genuine interest in health, fitness and wellbeing.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends in accordance with class schedules and private lessonbookings.
• Pre-employment drug tests and a police check are required.
