Job summary

Fletcher Construction, Auckland, is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead the in-house payroll function during a PayGlobal implementation. You will partner with the Project Manager - Payroll Transition to translate payroll requirements into system design, testing, data migration and go-live activities.

Post-implementation, you will manage payroll operations, governance and continuous improvement, building a high-performing payroll team and ensuring accurate delivery across the business.

Qualifications

• Experienced payroll leader with a track record of managing end-to-end payroll processes.

Fletcher Construction is entering an exciting new chapter as part of the global VINCI Construction group. As we transition our payroll services in-house, we are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to help establish our future payroll function while partnering closely with our Project Manager - Payroll Transition on the implementation of PayGlobal.

This is a unique opportunity to combine payroll leadership with transformation. As the payroll subject matter expert, you will work alongside the Project Manager - Payroll Transition to ensure payroll requirements are successfully translated into system design, testing, data migration, cutover and business readiness. Following implementation, you will lead the payroll function, ensuring accurate payroll delivery, strong governance, compliance and continuous improvement.

You will:

• Partner with the Project Manager - Payroll Transition to deliver the successful implementation of PayGlobal.
• Act as the payroll SME across system design, testing, data migration and go-live activities.
• Build and lead Fletcher Construction's future payroll team and function.
• Oversee end-to-end payroll operations, compliance and service delivery.
• Drive payroll governance, controls and continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring:

• Proven experience leading complex payroll operations.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience with PayGlobal, Chris21 or similar enterprise payroll systems.
• Payroll systems implementation, testing or data migration experience.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• A commitment to accuracy, service excellence and continuous improvement.
