Job summary

Waimate Main School is seeking a passionate, caring teacher for a 0.4 FTE fixed-term position. The role supports Year 3 and 4 in a collaborative team, delivering engaging learning experiences two days per week, Monday and Friday.

The successful candidate will foster curiosity, creativity and confidence in students, uphold inclusive practices, and communicate effectively with whānau and colleagues in a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• NZ teaching certification required; eligible to teach primary/intermediate (Years 1–8).
• Part-time fixed-term position for Year 3 and 4 two days per week.
• Demonstrated communication, collaboration and inclusive classroom practices.

Responsibilities

• Co-teach Year 3 and 4 two days per week (Mon and Fri).
• Create a safe, inclusive, well-organised learning environment.
• Collaborate with the existing teaching team to support learning goals.

Are you seeking a rewarding part-time teaching position in a caring, supportive environment?

Waimate Main School is looking for a teacher to work alongside our dedicated Year 3 and 4 teacher 2 days per week (currently Monday and Friday). You will join a friendly, collaborative team committed to fostering curiosity, creativity, and confidence in our students.

• Commences : Monday 12th October 2026.


• Teaching : 2 days/week (Monday and Friday).
