Job summary

Ryman Healthcare is seeking an enthusiastic Activity and Lifestyle Coordinator to support residents in our Special Care Unit in Christchurch. This part-time role covers Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, focusing on meaningful activities, engagement, and wellbeing in a warm, caring village setting.

You'll partner with residents, families and the care team to tailor experiences, record participation digitally and help maintain an active daily life with empathy and creativity.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering activities in aged care, recreation or community services.
• Genuine passion for creating positive experiences for others.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Creativity, initiative and good organisational ability.
• Confidence engaging with residents and supporting individual needs.
• Warm, empathetic and resident-focused approach.
• Ability to learn new digital systems and technology.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of enjoyable activities tailored to residents' interests and needs.
• Encourage participation and build meaningful connections for wellbeing.
• Facilitate small group and one-to-one activities to promote engagement.
• Support residents to remain active, connected and involved in daily life.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families and team members.
• Use digital tools to record participation and assist programme planning.
