Job summary

sKids in Auckland is seeking a Manager/Assistant Manager for Woodlands Park. You’ll oversee daily operations, lead a large group of tamariki, and deliver structured activities from 7am–8:30am and 2:30pm–6:00pm, with potential holiday hours.

Role requires leadership of teams, calm handling of high-energy environments, and strong communication with parents and school staff. 20+ and NZ work rights are prerequisites, with a supportive, non-weekend workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Legal right to work in New Zealand (NZ citizenship or visa)
• Reliable transport to Woodlands Park site
• Proven leadership experience with groups of children (OSCAR, teaching, coaching, childcare, camps)
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour and high-energy groups calmly and effectively
• Ownership of programmes, teams, or operations, not just assisting
• Strong communication with parents, schools and team members
• Age over 20 years old (per regulations)

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the day-to-day running of the sKids programme—from setup to pack-down
• Lead and manage a large group of children with a safe, inclusive and engaging environment
• Plan and deliver structured activities (arts, sports, games, trips, baking, drama, music)
• Proactively manage challenging behaviour using positive guidance strategies
• Build strong relationships with parents, caregivers and school staff onsite
• Lead, coach and delegate to Programme Assistants to maintain high standards and accountability
• Prepare in advance by organising resources and setting clear expectations for each session
