Job summary

Nelson College for Girls Boarding Hostel in Nelson City is seeking a part-time supervisor for CJ House. The role involves supervising boarders aged years 7–13, with a schedule of 19 hours per week, including a Saturday shift and three 30-minute unpaid breaks.

You will be an energetic, empathic communicator, supporting the safety and wellbeing of students and working both collaboratively and independently in a vibrant, family-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Ability to relate well to teenagers and build rapport.
• Reliability and a calm, caring approach to supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision to boarders in CJ House.
• Ensure safety and wellbeing of students at all times.
• Communicate effectively with staff, students and parents.
• Support a warm, fun and inclusive boarding environment.
