Caliber Design is offering a paid summer internship at our Christchurch office, inviting you to work at the intersection of mechanical engineering and AI. You will join our in-house R&D programme focused on AI-assisted fabrication drawing preparation and checking, gaining hands-on experience on real projects.

You'll collaborate with senior engineers, test new ideas, document results, and help shape how these tools are integrated into practice while developing practical skills for a career in NZ

Competenze

• Currently studying mechanical engineering (or closely related discipline) and going into your fourth year in 2027.
• Eligible to work in New Zealand.
• Genuinely curious about AI and how it can be applied to engineering.

Mansioni

• Help develop and test AI-assisted methods for preparing and checking fabrication drawings: identify common errors and omissions, build repeatable checking workflows, and measure tool performance against experienced engineers.
• Work alongside experienced Caliber engineers on genuine R&D, test ideas, document what works, and help shape how we use these tools in practice.
