About the Team and Branch:

The purpose of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is to Grow New Zealand for All. Our goal is to create a strong, high-performing, and inclusive economy. In the year ahead, the Employment, Skills and Immigration Policy Branch (ESIP) will be working on a range of high priority areas critical to supporting the Government’s employment and Immigration agendas.

The Skills and Employment Policy team provides advice on shaping labour market policy to meet the changing needs of workers and firms.

We are currently working on projects including:

  • Developing enduring policy settings to support workforce planning
  • Reducing persistent disadvantage through targeted early intervention
  • Improving education to employment transitions

  • Proven experience in a similar Personal Assistant or administrative role.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Suite packages including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work under limited supervision and to tight deadlines
  • High level time management and with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
