Job summary

Tūhoe Te Uru Taumatua is seeking an experienced People and Development Coordinator on a fixed-term 12‑month basis to provide parental leave cover. You will support the kaimahi lifecycle, ensuring effective recruitment, onboarding, and people processes across the organisation.

The role requires hands-on HR coordination, strong organisational skills, and the ability to hit the ground running in a busy environment while upholding confidentiality and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Experience across the full employee lifecycle from recruitment to offboarding.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate recruitment and selection processes from advertising through onboarding.
  • Support induction/onboarding for new kaimahi.
  • Assist with performance and development processes.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and workforce data.
  • Prepare HR reports and metrics.
  • Support delivery of people policies and programmes.
  • Provide high quality coordination and admin support to People and Development.
  • Contribute to projects and continuous improvement across the organisation.

Description:

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and capable People and Development Coordinator to join our team on a fixed-term basis for 12 months, providing parental leave cover. This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys variety, thrives in a busy environment, and can confidently hit the ground running. As a key member of our People and Development team, you will support the delivery of people services across the entire kaimahi lifecycle, helping ensure our people have the support, systems and processes they need to succeed.

With organisational growth and a range of people initiatives underway, there is plenty of rewarding and meaningful mahi ahead.

What You will be Doing:
  • Coordinating recruitment and selection processes from advertising through to onboarding.
  • Supporting induction and onboarding programmes for new kaimahi.
  • Assisting with performance and development processes.
  • Maintaining accurate HR records and organisational data.
  • Preparing HR reports and workforce information.
  • Supporting the delivery of people policies, programmes and initiatives.
  • Providing high-quality coordination and administration support to the People and Development team.
  • Contributing to projects and continuous improvement activities across the organisation.
Skills and Experiences:
  • Previous experience in a Human Resources, People & Culture, or HR Coordinator role.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience across the employee lifecycle.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive approach and a willingness to take initiative.
  • Confidence working independently while being a collaborative team member.
  • High levels of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information
It would be an advantage to have:
  • Strong experience with HRIS/HRMS systems.
  • Recruitment and talent acquisition experience.
  • Payroll administration knowledge.
  • Experience improving processes and implementing systems.
  • HR or Business qualifications (or are working towards one)
