Think Solar Group is expanding and seeking a motivated leader to establish and manage a new location in New Zealand. You will build and lead an installation team, oversee operations and drive growth with the backing of a national base.

The role requires a background in electrical trades or project leadership, with a view to long-term regional development and profitability. Early 2027 start date is ideal, with strong support from the existing network.

Looking for the opportunity to step off the tools and into leadership, ownership, and long-term growth? We’re looking for someone to open our next location in New Zealand.

At Think Solar, we’re committed to shaping a sustainable future for Aotearoa New Zealand through innovative solar systems, batteries, and off-grid solutions. With current locations in Christchurch, Nelson, Wanaka, Queenstown, Dunedin & Timaru - we’re growing rapidly and are now looking for the right person to become the next in a successful group of owner/operators.

We’re focused on getting the right person, so are open to applications and would like to hear from ambitious individuals anywhere across New Zealand in a new location we’re not already established in.

We’re looking for a motivated leader who wants to build a team, grow a region whilst having the backing of a successful model within a rapidly expanding industry.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for establishing and leading your location, with full support from an experienced national team. Think Solar has a strong presence in solar, with success stories at every location.

This is an exciting leadership position where you’ll:

• Build and lead a high-performing installation team
• Oversee day-to-day operations, scheduling, and installation delivery
• Drive local business growth and customer relationships
• Manage financial performance and profitability
• Shape the direction of the region long term

This could suit:

• A qualified electrician ready to step off the tools
• A current foreman, team leader or experienced project manager
• An electrical or trade business operator looking to scale up with support
• A manager with a genuine interest in renewables that can transfer their skillet

What you’ll need

• To be an excellent communicator & collaborator
• Able to oversee projects whilst building relationships with customers
• Grounding in your area, with commitment to stay long term
• To be responsible for the business commercially, overseeing financial results & cashflow
• Experience in the electrical trade or solar is a bonus, but not essential. We can support the transition into solar, as long as you have the passion!
