Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora invites applications for a Fixed term Enrolled Nurse in the Outpatients Department at Southland Hospital. This 0.6 FTE part-time role is fixed term until November 2027, offering a pro rata salary and KiwiSaver benefits.

You will contribute to nursing assessments, care planning and delivery under the supervision of registered nurses, in a busy Outpatients setting. A supportive multidisciplinary team will help you develop your skills across surgical specialties.

Qualifications

• Be registered as an Enrolled Nurse under the HPCA Act 2003.
• Have a current Practising Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to nursing assessments, care planning, implementation and evaluation of care for health consumers and families/whanau.
• Assist health consumers with activities of daily living and observe changes, reporting to the registered nurse.
• Administer medicines and undertake other nursing care responsibilities appropriate to your competence.
• Work in a team with registered nurses, enrolled nurses and healthcare assistants.
• Be accountable for nursing actions and practice in line with legislation to your level of knowledge and experience.
