Job summary

Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand in Whangārei Hospital is seeking a Speech Language Therapist to join the outpatient service. You will provide assessment and therapy to outpatients, with potential cross-over to inpatient care, supporting a multidisciplinary team.

The role operates 8:00 am–4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with on-call duties for public holidays and occasional travel within Northland. Collaboration and ongoing professional development are emphasised.

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant qualification and be recognised by the NZ Speech Language Therapists Association (NZSTA).
• Current NZSTA membership and a holder of a current practicing certificate.
• Aware of Speech Language Therapy theory and principles of practice.
• Current and full NZ Drivers Licence.
• Experience is preferred, however all are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide a quality outpatient service to designated outpatients at Whangarei Hospital.
• Work in the outpatient clinic and may cross over into inpatient service as needed.
• Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and maintain strong working relationships with staff and clients.
• Participate in on-call Rosters and occasional travel across Northland to Rural Hospitals.
