Outbound Logistics and Distribution Manager

New Zealand King Salmon is the world’s largest producer of King salmon. We raise and market the finest salmon globally under the Ōra King, Regal, and Southern Ocean brands. We strive to grow healthy kai, healthy communities, healthy relationships, healthy environments, and healthy economies.

We’re looking for an experienced Outbound Logistics and Distribution Manager to take charge of our distribution operations. In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the daily flow of goods from our sites and 3PL partners to our customers, ensuring every delivery is on time, cost-effective, and to the highest standard.

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, you’ll play a key role in optimising processes, reducing costs, and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain. Collaboration will be central to your success, working closely with compliance, sales, planning, production, and customer service teams to deliver great outcomes for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage outbound logistics operations across warehousing, transport, 3PLs, and cold chain providers, ensuring compliance with food safety and health & safety standards.
• Oversee supplier and contractor relationships, including contract negotiations, service reviews, claims management, and performance monitoring.
• Assist with the development and implementation of logistics strategies to optimise cost, efficiency, and service levels, including airfreight planning, route optimisation, and capacity allocation.
• Lead, develop, and support the logistics team through training, recruitment, performance management, and engagement.

Requirements
