Platinum Recruitment is partnering with the Dunedin Fringe Arts Trust (DFAT) to recruit an Organisational Lead for Dunedin's premier arts charity. You will provide strategic leadership across planning, funding, governance, people leadership, and financial sustainability to deliver outstanding creative outcomes.

You will oversee three main programmes: Dunedin Fringe Festival, NZ Young Writers Festival, and Amped Music Project, ensuring impact and alignment with DFAT's long-term vision.

  • Strong financial and strategic planning capability.
  • Experience working with Boards or governance groups.

Responsibilities

  • Drive grant funding, sponsorship, and philanthropic partnerships.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, funders, and community partners.
  • Provide leadership and development support to the team (3 direct reports).
  • Oversee financial performance, budgets, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensure strong governance, risk management, and compliance practices.
  • Represent the organisation across the arts and wider community sectors.

Job description

Platinum Recruitment is proud to partner with the Dunedin Fringe Arts Trust (DFAT) to recruit for an Organisational Lead.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced leader to shape the future of a respected for purpose organisation at the heart of Dunedin's creative community. Reporting to the Board, you'll provide strategic leadership across organisational planning, funding, stakeholder engagement, governance, people leadership and financial sustainability while supporting the delivery of exceptional creative outcomes.

As the Organisational Lead you will oversee DFAT's three main programmes: the Dunedin Fringe Festival, NZ Young Writers Festival, and Amped Music Project. Each programme plays a significant role in fostering creativity and supporting emerging talent. You will provide strategic oversight to ensure the programmes remain impactful and align with the organisation's long-term vision.

Additionally, DFAT manages Te Whare o Rukutia, a flexible performance space, and the White Box Gallery as well as supporting the arts sector through Fringe HQ.

Working closely with funders, sponsors, artists, community partners, and the senior leadership team, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the organisation continues to thrive and grow.
