Job summary

Devit Enterprise Limited in Katikati is seeking two Orchard Supervisors to lead our orchard team and ensure efficient, safe daily operations. You will supervise workers, plan tasks, train staff, monitor quality, and coordinate with tractor drivers to maintain smooth site operations.

We value strong organisational and communication skills, the ability to lead diverse teams, and careful handling of tools and machinery. Relevant NZQA Level 2 or 1 year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• NZQA Level 2 qualification or 1 year of relevant work experience.

• Proficient with paperwork including timesheets, performance notes and reports.
• Reliable, flexible and safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations across the orchard site.
• Plan, assign, and oversee tasks for orchard workers.
• Train workers on pruning, thinning, harvesting, and safe equipment use.
• Monitor fruit quality and maturity; take samples for Brix testing during harvest.
• Ensure high-quality picking standards and provide real-time guidance.
• Coordinate tools, PPE, and bin placement; manage logistics with tractor drivers.
• Identify signs of pests, diseases, or plant health issues and report them.
• Oversee agrichemical use and weed control per standards.
• Set up and establish new orchard blocks including planting and irrigation.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety rules and conduct inductions.
• Keep records of team hours, leave, and performance.
• Report daily progress to managers and flag challenges.
