Job summary

Craigmore NZ Limited is seeking a Leading Hand to manage in-field operations, supervise large seasonal teams, and train staff across pruning, thinning, and harvesting tasks. The role involves implementing job sheets, maintaining records, and supporting orchard management in a fast-paced environment.

You will need proven leadership, horticulture knowledge, and the ability to work physically demanding hours while meeting daily deadlines and following best pest and disease practices for pip fruit.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and communicate with large teams through seasonal tasks.
• National Certificate in Horticulture Level 4 or equivalent experience.
• Ability to implement and communicate job sheets.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
• Good time management and ability to meet daily deadlines.
• Familiar with pip fruit pest and disease best practices including identification and control methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-field operations, pest and disease management.
• Supervise staff during pruning, thinning, and harvesting.
• Train staff on seasonal tasks and onboard new teams.
• Assist with general running of teams as guided by orchard management.
• Maintain records and oversee machinery tasks.
