Job summary

Higgins is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our Hawke's Bay Maintenance team and help deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance outcomes across the network.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll lead day-to-day delivery of cyclic, reactive, winter, and emergency maintenance activities, coordinating crews and subcontractors while upholding safety and client expectations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience supervising and delivering maintenance operations.
• Proven leadership experience managing operational teams and subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of road maintenance activities, including cyclic, reactive, and emergency works.
• Experience with RAMM/AWM and other client-mandated systems.
• Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to identify risks, solve problems and make sound operational decisions.
• Demonstrated commitment to health and safety leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction and maintenance teams in cyclic, reactive, winter and emergency maintenance works.
• Coordinate labour, plant, equipment, and subcontractor resources to meet programme objectives.
• Monitor daily operational performance and resolve delivery issues, risks, and constraints.
• Support maintenance planning and ensure operational readiness across the network.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Provide leadership during incidents and emergency response activities.
• Promote health, safety, environmental and quality culture across the team.
• Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.

Higgins is looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our Hawke's Bay Maintenance team and help deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance outcomes across the network.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day delivery of cyclic, reactive, winter, and emergency maintenance activities, providing leadership to Supervisors, crews, and subcontractors. You'll play a critical role in coordinating operational resources, driving performance, promoting a strong safety culture, and ensuring works are delivered to contract requirements and client expectations.

What you'll be doing
