Operations Expert – Construction Sector

Location:Hamilton, Waikato

Division:Asset Maintenance (Planned and Reactive Maintenance)

Employment Type:Full-Time, Permanent

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Operations Lead to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of day-to-day operations across multiple projects and jobs. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of site logistics, workforce coordination, subcontractor management, and programme scheduling within the civil, infrastructure, or construction maintenance industry. You'll work closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, Estimators and clients to ensure jobs are delivered efficiently, safely, and on time. The ideal candidate will bring practical site experience and a solutions-focused mindset, playing a key role in driving operational performance across our Asset Maintenance Business Division.

The Opportunity:

As the Lead Operations expert, you will orchestrate the seamless execution of our construction maintenance projects and jobs. Your expertise will ensure that our projects and jobs are meticulously planned, resources are optimally allocated, and timelines are consistently met. Key Responsibilities:

  • Project/Job Scheduling:Develop and manage comprehensive project and job schedules, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Resource Planning:Coordinate labour, materials, and equipment to optimise efficiency and productivity.
  • Procurement:Take ownership of the acquisition of necessary resources.
  • Cost Control:Monitor project budgets, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to maintain financial performance.
  • Team Leadership:Lead and mentor delivery teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:Engage with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure cohesive project execution.
  • Process Enhancement:Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in project scheduling and execution.

  • Proven experience in construction project scheduling, planning, and execution.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and cost control mechanisms.
