Job summary

Silver Fern Farms in Balclutha is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to join the Finegand team. This hands-on role is on site; you’ll lead safety initiatives, manage incident investigations, and drive continuous improvements while ensuring legislative compliance and workforce wellbeing.

Based on site needs, hours are Mon-Fri 8:30-5:30 with occasional flexibility to 8:00-22:00. You’ll build strong relationships across the business and coach others to embed safer practices.

Qualifications

• Must have strong health and safety focus and drive continuous improvement.
• Ability to collaborate with management and frontline teams.
• Experience in coordinating safety programs and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety initiatives across the site and drive continuous improvement.
• Champion compliance with legislative and company requirements.
• Investigate incidents and coordinate corrective actions.
• Provide practical H&S guidance and build relationships across the business.
• Promote wellbeing and a safe, engaged workforce.
• Monitor and report on health and safety records and systems.
