Job summary

Aotearoa Infinite Academy invites applications for a SENCO Teacher to lead our learning support framework within New Zealand's first online charter school. You will ensure personalised support for students, coordinate with external services, and help adapt the curriculum across Pre-IGCSE, IGCSE and NCEA while delivering teaching.

Qualifications

• Full New Zealand Teaching Registration.
• Postgraduate qualification in Special Education, Inclusive Education, or working towards.
• Minimum 3–5 years teaching experience with diverse learning needs.
• Strong understanding of the SENCO role and MOE learning support frameworks.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs and learning support plans.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with students, families, and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Identify, assess, and coordinate support for students with special educational needs.
• Coordinate and liaise with external specialists, therapists, and support services (RTLB, MOE services).
• Deliver targeted learning support through small group and one-on-one virtual sessions.
• Adapt curriculum materials to meet diverse learning needs within Pre-IGCSE, IGCSE, and NCEA frameworks.
• Lead professional development for staff on inclusive practices and adaptive teaching strategies.
• Embed universal design for learning principles across all subjects.
• Engage with families and whānau to support student learning journeys and IEP reviews.
