Job summary

Te Toka Tumai - Auckland University Hospital, part of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, is seeking a General Surgeon with fellowship training to join the Breast, Endocrine, Melanoma and Sarcoma team. The appointee will participate in clinical care, research and education, and contribute to acute General Surgery workloads.

Essential: FRACS/Recognition as a Specialist General Surgeon, post-fellowship focus in Melanoma and Non-Melanoma skin cancers, and Oncoplastic Breast Surgery training.

Qualifications

• Eligible for registration as a Specialist General Surgeon with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
• Completed a Specialty Fellowship training programme recognised by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or equivalent.
• Post-fellowship training in Melanoma and Non-Melanoma skin cancer, and post-fellowship training in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery.
• Commitment to research, audit and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Work within the Breast, Endocrine, Melanoma and Sarcoma team within the General Surgery & Trauma Service.
• Participate in clinical, research and educational activities of the team.
• Take part in the Acute General Surgery workload and on-call requirements.
• Contribute to high standards of patient care and safety.
