Job summary
George Grant Engineering (GGE) is seeking a skilled Rigger Welder to join our site erection team in New Zealand. You will rig, position and weld structural steel on-site, interpreting erection sequences and drawings while following strict safety practices.
Ideal candidates have 5+ years of structural steel erection and on-site welding experience, NZ residency or citizenship, and relevant certifications. The role offers competitive pay and growth opportunities within a strong team culture.
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in structural steel erection and on-site welding.
- Ability to read erection layouts and welding details.
- Current SiteSafe Passport, EWP, and Working at Heights certifications.
Responsibilities
- Rig and position structural steel members in line with erection sequences.
- Perform high-quality welds on-site per specified welding procedures.
- Interpret erection drawings and welding detail sheets accurately.
- Assist in crane lifting operations under direction of site leadership.
- Maintain compliance with all site safety protocols and GGE policies.
