Blomfield Special School And Resource Ctre in New Zealand is seeking Construction Specialists for roles across the country. You will read drawings, install framing, cladding, doors and windows, and help with concrete work on major infrastructure projects.

The position is full-time with a guaranteed 30 hours per week and the pay range of NZD 25–40 per hour. Relocation and travel across regions are supported; valid NZ work visa or residency required.

Qualificações

• 2-year experience in the construction industry or Level 4 relevant qualification.
• Sound knowledge of H&S procedures and standards.
• Willingness to travel to multiple regions nationwide.

Responsabilidades

• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Build, install and repair framework, walls, floors, roofs and ceilings, including foundations.
• Cut materials, assemble doors, windows, cladding, insulation and linings.
• Construct concrete formwork and assist in pouring concrete as needed.
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding per safety standards.
• Transport materials and equipment around sites; load/unload as required.
• Work on rotating project sites across the country and relocate as needed.

Pay & Benefits:

• Min $25.00 per hour to a maximum of $40.00 per hour

Job Description:

• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Construct, install and repair framework and structures, formwork, framing, cladding and finishing work, including foundation, walls, floors, roofs and ceilings
• Cut materials, assemble and install doors, windows, cladding, insulation, linings, and finishing elements
• Construct concrete formwork, create metal and wood structures forms or chutes by using fasteners, rod bending machines or hand tools, and assist in pouring concrete if required
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding and access equipment for assembling structures above ground level, in accordance with safety standards
• Cover subfloors with building paper to keep out moisture and lay hardwood, parquet, or wood strip block floors by nailing floors to subfloor or cementing them to mastic or asphalt base
• Repair and maintain existing fittings
• Loading and unloading building and construction materials, tools and equipment and transporting them around sites
• Work on rotating project sites across the country
• Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by the employer to support project and business objectives.

Skills and Experience Required:

• 2-year experience in the construction industry or Level 4 relevant qualification
• NZ Driver license or overseas equivalent is required
• Able to work independently and adapt to new environments
• Experience working on commercial, infrastructure, or civil construction projects preferred.
• Sound knowledge of H&S procedures
• Understanding of and commitment to workplace health, safety, and quality standards.

Although this role is listed in Whanganui - Manawatu, we are recruiting for positions to be deployed across all regions of New Zealand, depending on project requirements. For clarification, these regions are:

North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington. South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland.

Applicants are invited to apply from any of these regions and must be willing to travel or relocate within the country as needed; relocation costs will be covered by the company.
