Job summary

Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand in Wellington invites NZREX doctors to apply for house surgeon roles across the Wellington Region, including Kapiti Coast, Otaki, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa. Positions are full-time to start with orientation on 11 January 2027, with rotations across three district hospitals and community attachments.

Successful applicants should have NZREX (or PLAB1&2 or AMC1&2), relevant medical experience, and eligibility to work in New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Must have passed the NZREX exam in the last 5 years; or Part 1 & Part 2 of PLAB or AMC Part 1 & 2.
• Must have worked as a doctor for a minimum of 12 months in your home country.
• Must have a visa to work in New Zealand.
• Must be CURRENTLY residing in New Zealand.
• Must have a driver's license and a willingness to drive in New Zealand.
