Job summary

Massey University - Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa in Wellington is seeking an Associate Professor to lead the School of Nursing with a clear sense of purpose. The role focuses on primary and community healthcare, mental health, medical and surgical nursing, supporting pre-registration programmes and distance teaching.

You will foster partnerships with healthcare providers, drive research and scholarship, and contribute to high-quality nursing education.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in nursing or a related field.
• Registered Nurse with a current APC.
• Clinical leadership across primary/community health, mental health, and medical/surgical nursing.
• Leadership in curriculum development of nursing programmes that have successful outcomes, including for equity groups.
• Ability to apply blended teaching approaches including online technologies.
• Excellent communication in inter-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible, purposeful leadership within the School of Nursing.
• Lead high-quality nursing education across face-to-face and distance teaching.
• Foster partnerships with healthcare providers to secure clinical placements.
• Contribute to nursing and health research and supervise doctoral students.
• Lead and mentor staff and contribute to research funding.
