Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join the After Hours Clinic at Kaitaia Hospital. The role offers autonomous clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management for patients presenting after hours, with a focus on equity and high-quality care for the Far North community.

Rostered shifts across evenings and weekends, working both independently and with multidisciplinary teams, and leading clinical excellence while supporting service

Qualifications

• Registration with the Nursing Council of NZ and a current Annual Practising Certificate as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the specific area of practice.
• Clinical Masters degree or equivalent qualification.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally safe practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide autonomous, advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management in the After Hours Clinic.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community health providers to deliver equitable care.
• Lead and support development of nursing practice and a skilled nursing workforce.
• Triage presentations and support service development within Kaitaia Hospital.
