Job summary

The University of Waikato is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or General Practitioner with an ADHD special interest to lead ADHD assessments for university students. You will work within the multidisciplinary Student Health Services team to support wellbeing and academic success.

There are flexible hours and a supportive environment, with salary based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. Opportunities exist to negotiate hours including part-time arrangements.

Qualifications

• NZ registration and practising certificate required.
• Experience in assessment, diagnosis and clinical decision‑making.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Commitment to culturally responsive care and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Responsibilities

• Lead ADHD assessments and support pathways for students.
• Undertake comprehensive assessments and gather information from students, clinicians and whānau.
• Develop shared care plans that support wellbeing and academic success.
• Support medication initiation and management within scope or coordinate with community providers.
• Contribute to service development and ADHD‑related guidance for colleagues.
