Job summary

Frontline Recruitment invites applications for a Nurse Practitioner to join a community-centred primary care service in New Zealand. You will practise with autonomy within a supported multidisciplinary team, focusing on acute and chronic care with an emphasis on health literacy and long-term outcomes.

The clinic operates 5 days a week, 8:00am–6:00pm, with flexible rostering; weekend work may be rostered and paid at a higher rate. Structured admin time and ongoing mentorship are provided.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse Practitioner with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
  • Current APC with prescribing rights.
  • Ideally 2+ years of Nurse Practitioner experience.
  • Primary care experience preferred.
  • Collaborative and empathetic approach; commitment to equity.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive primary care within Nurse Practitioner scope.
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage acute presentations.
  • Prescribe medications, order investigations, and coordinate referrals.
  • Provide patient education to improve health literacy and self-management.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team addressing health determinants.
  • Contribute to development of a community-led model of care.

The Opportunity

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join a well-established, community-centred primary care service operating within an integrated model of care.

You will practise with a high degree of clinical autonomy within your scope, supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team.

The patient population presents with a broad range of acute and chronic conditions, with an emphasis on improving access, health literacy, and long-term outcomes.

The clinic operates 5 days per week from 8:00am to 6:00pm, with flexible rostering available. Weekend work may be required on a rostered basis, compensated at a higher rate.

Clinical Environment & Workload
  • Average of 2–3 patients per hour, enabling quality, patient-centred consultations
  • Dedicated, paid administrative time built into your schedule
  • Walk-in patient model providing exposure to acute presentations
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive, culturally responsive primary care within Nurse Practitioner scope
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage both acute presentations
  • Prescribe medications, order and interpret investigations, and coordinate referrals
  • Provide patient education to support improved health literacy and self-management
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team addressing clinical and social determinants of health
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of an innovative, community-led model of care
About You
  • Registered Nurse Practitioner with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
  • Current APC with prescribing rights
  • Ideally 2 years+ experience practising as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Primary care experience ideal
  • Strong clinical judgement with a collaborative and empathetic approach
  • Commitment to equitable and culturally responsive healthcare delivery
