Nurse Educator - Professional Development Unit
  • Fixed-term to March 2027
  • Part-time position (0.4 FTE - 32 hours/fortnight)

About the Role

We have a fixed-term Nurse Educator opportunity available within the Professional Development Unit, supporting the Critical Care education portfolio.

While based at Waikato Hospital, this role includes district and regional responsibilities, with travel to other hospitals across the district and region. Working in partnership with nurse educators, clinical coaches, and other clinical leaders, you will support consistent, highquality nursing education across the region. You will identify learning needs, design and deliver evidencebased education initiatives, and evaluate outcomes to promote safe, highquality, and culturally responsive nursing practice.

About you

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses with a strong interest in clinical education and workforce development.

You will have:

  • A sound understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to improving health outcomes for Māori.
  • Minimum five years postregistration experience, with relevant clinical background.
  • Experience in nursing education, preceptorship, or clinical coaching.
  • Proficient or Expert PDRP, with commitment to ongoing advancement.
  • Postgraduate study in a relevant field.
  • Strong communication and relationshipbuilding skills.
  • A current full New Zealand drivers licence.
