Job summary

Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora - Southern in Dunedin invites an experienced senior RN to become Nurse Educator for Main Operating Theatres. You will lead education, training and development for perioperative staff.

You will support scrub and circulating roles, contribute to organisation-wide education initiatives, and foster patient safety and quality. The role offers the chance to mentor a diverse perioperative team within a complex clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Experienced senior OR scrub/circulate RN or AT.
• Postgraduate qualification in perioperative care.
• Advanced intraoperative knowledge.

• Well-developed communication and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver education for staff in the Main Operating Theatres.

Are you an experienced senior registered nurse (RN) with a passion for education,quality and excellence? We have an opportunity for an experienced perioperative RN to further their career, focusing on education, training and development within a passionate perioperative educator team.

About the Role

In this role, you will play a key part in developing and supporting our perioperative workforce across the Main Operating Theatre services. You will provide education, teaching, and clinical support to staff, developing their skills in scrub and circulating roles, particularly for those new to the perioperative environment. You will also contribute to organisation-wide education, leadership and patient-focused initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a complex clinical environment while supporting the ongoing development of our perioperative workforce.
