Job summary

SIMPLERYO TECHNOLOGY LIMITED is seeking a skilled software engineer to join our team in Auckland. This is a full-time role with guaranteed hours of 30 per week, but you will normally work around 35 hours.

You will analyze requirements, design, develop, test, deploy and maintain software applications and digital solutions, collaborating with UX designers and backend engineers to deliver end-to-end features for Infomate web and mobile platforms.

Responsibilities

• Analyse business and system requirements and design, develop, implement and maintain software applications and customised digital solutions.
• Review and evaluate existing software applications and platforms to identify limitations and opportunities for improvement.
• Design and develop software applications and components to meet requirements.
• Write, modify and maintain program code per designs and specifications.
• Design and implement integrations between software applications and databases to improve interoperability.
• Test, debug and diagnose software applications and system components to ensure quality.
• Prepare, update and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate with UX designers, back-end engineers, editorial, and advertising operations teams to deliver end-to-end features for Infomate.
• Participate in solution design discussions, code reviews, testing, and release planning.

We are now seeking a skilled and experienced software engineer to join our team. This is a full-time job with guaranteed hours of 30 hours per week, but you will normally be required to work around 35 hours.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

• The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing business and system requirements and designing, developing, implementing and maintaining software applications and customised digital solutions. The role will also involve software integration, testing, debugging, deployment and technical evaluation to support the delivery of effective technology solutions.
• Review and evaluate existing software applications, digital platforms and associated systems to identify technical limitations, system deficiencies, integration issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Design and develop software applications, system components and customised digital solutions to meet identified functional, technical and operational requirements.
• Write, modify and maintain program code in accordance with approved software designs, system requirements and technical specifications, ensuring compliance with applicable development and quality standards.
• Design and implement integrations between software applications, digital platforms, databases, APIs and other business systems to improve system functionality, interoperability and operational efficiency.
• Test, debug and diagnose software applications and system components, identify and correct programming errors and technical faults, and ensure that applications and systems perform in accordance with technical specifications and quality requirements.
• Implement, configure and support software applications and digital solutions, including software deployment, system upgrades, modifications and ongoing technical maintenance.
• Prepare, update and maintain technical documentation, including software specifications, system documentation, end-user technical guidance, and internal operating procedures for the software modules and features under the developer's responsibility.
• Collaborate with UX designers, back-end engineers, editorial, and advertising operations teams to develop and deliver end-to-end software features across the Infomate web and mobile platforms, including functionality supporting user-generated content, curated content, local services, marketplace listings, and paid advertising placements.
• Participate in solution design discussions, code reviews, testing, and release planning, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of development standards, technical practices, and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
