Overview

Neptune Pacific Direct Line (NPDL) is seeking an experienced New Zealand Operations Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership across all New Zealand functions, including Equipment, Port, Transport, and Depot operations. NPDL is part of The Wonderful Company, headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, with brands including FIJI Water, JUSTIN and Landmark Vineyards, Wonderful Citrus, Wonderful Pistachios, Teleflora, POM Wonderful and Suterra. This is a pivotal role where you’ll drive operational excellence, deliver safe and efficient services, and ensure strong customer outcomes while meeting revenue and cost objectives. You’ll standardise practices across sites, unlock cross-functional value, and lead empowered teams to achieve sustainable performance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all NZ operational functions – Depot, Transport, Equipment, and Port – ensuring alignment with group strategies and objectives.
  • Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring full compliance with HSE requirements and driving continuous improvement across all operations.
  • Oversee Depot & Transport operations with full P&L accountability, optimising resources, managing supplier performance, and delivering commercial growth.
  • Drive operational excellence at ports, ensuring vessel turnaround efficiency, schedule reliability, and strong relationships with service providers and authorities.
  • Lead Equipment management initiatives, ensuring accurate forecasting, cost control, and optimised utilisation across the network.
  • Deliver against key KPIs: safety, operational efficiency, budget performance, staff engagement, and customer satisfaction.
  • Build, develop, and inspire high-performing teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and resilience.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years’ operations leadership experience within shipping, logistics, or related industries.
  • A proven track record of delivering results in complex, high-pressure environments.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions and geographies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical capability, with sound commercial acumen.
  • High levels of integrity and work ethic, ensuring the right controls and governance are always in place.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

This is a full-time permanent role based in our Parnell, Auckland office. You will have the right to live and work in New Zealand at the time of applying. The successful candidate may be subject to undergo a Police Check and/or Pre-Employment Drug Test.
