  • 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week) permanent rostered rotatingshifts
  • Conversational Interviews to be held week of 17 th November
  • 2 start date options: 19 th January and 16 th of February 2026

About the Role

We are seeking New Graduate Midwives to join us and work collegially within ourskilled and friendly multi-disciplinary teams as we work in partnership withour local Lead Maternity Carer’s to assess, plan, implement and evaluate healthcare for the mothers and babies of the Waitaha region.

Our New Graduate midwifery program offers you professional developmentopportunities and enables you to develop your midwifery skills within asupportive environment. You will rotate between birthing suite and theantenatal/postnatal ward at Christchurch Women’s Hospital. There may also beopportunities to gain experience within one of our outstanding whānau centredCommunity Birthing Units or women’s outpatients service. With our Trans-alpineagreement, you could also have the opportunity to work with our Te Tai oPoutini teams on the picturesque West Coast of the South Island.

Weare one of the largest tertiary units in New Zealand and supported by ourCommunity Birthing Units, we provide whānau centred support and care forover 5,500 births annually.
