Job summary

Southern Cross Group in New Zealand is seeking a skilled ICT and Telecommunication Technician to join our team. You will design, install, and maintain network infrastructure including fibre optic systems and VoIP testing.

You will conduct outside plant work, splice fibre, test with OTDR and RF equipment, and provide operations and maintenance support for telecom systems. Collaboration with cross‑functional teams will ensure reliable, secure connectivity.

Qualifications

• Experience in telecommunications network design and installation.
• Hands-on fibre optic experience and testing.
• Familiarity with OTDR, splice equipment, test meters, and RF testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, and maintain network infrastructure including fibre optic systems.
• Conduct outside plant work, including fibre installations and terminations.
• Perform network configuration, testing, and optimization for reliable operations.
• Test and analyze VoIP protocols to ensure secure communications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement telecom solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime.
