Job description

Fluid Recruitment is proud to exclusively partner with Electra in searching for its new Network Controller, reporting to the Control Room Supervisor.

The Role

Responsible for overseeing the safe and reliable supply of electricity to a growing region, you will join a tight knit Control Room. This will see you:

  • Developing switching sequences
  • Actioning planned work through coordinating with field staff
  • Fault finding and dispatching fault crews in responding to unplanned outages
  • Contributing to improving processes and procedures
  • Monitoring and reporting on network performance

As Electra transition to implementing to an upgraded SCADA system, you will have the rare opportunity to help shape its future and gain exposure to project work.

Further, you'll share and trade your technical knowledge with the team, including a passionate Trainee Controller.

About You

With previous Control Room experience within either distribution or transmission, you will be experienced in switch writing and be confident in responding to network events and emergencies.

You will be willing to share your experiences and contribute to the continued growth of the Control Room. Part of the Service Delivery Team, you'll enjoy direct contact with field crews and develop professional relationships built on strong rapport.

You'll ideally hold or be willing to work towards a Level Four Electricity Supply (Network Control). Previous field experience is ideal although not essential.

An agile organisation that is community focused you will be joining a tight knit and collegial Control Room that is well supported by an experienced leader. A Day Control Room, you'll work Monday to Friday and be part of the on-call roster.
