About The Role

Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is looking for another Renal and General Physician to support people living with renal disease across the Bay of Plenty. Currently there are five Physicians working across Renal and Acute General Medicine and we are now recruiting another SMO to join the service. This role will share cover of an inpatient General Medicine workload and have dedicated non-acute time for subspeciality nephrology service delivery. The roles cover both Tauranga and Whakatane as well as linking with wider renal services across Te Manawa Taki (Midland) region.

About You

We are looking for a high calibre clinician with excellent clinical and interpersonal skills and an interest in developing renal services across the district. An understanding and experience in Māori Health and the growing ethnic diversity in the region would be beneficial. Key requirements include the ability to work with, and when necessary, lead, multidisciplinary teams. They must be committed to patient safety and good clinical governance. In addition, we seek an individual who has the skills to foster a learning culture across undergraduate and postgraduate staff, with the support of the BOP clinical school and the University of Auckland. The school also provides clinical research opportunities.
