Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a skilled Sonographer to join the Radiology team at Nelson Hospital on a permanent part-time basis (0.3 FTE). You will deliver a safe ultrasound service, complete full examinations, and guide techniques to support patient care in a clinical setting.

The role requires registration with NZMRTB and an Annual Practising Certificate in Ultrasound, with rostered shifts Mon–Sun between 8:00 and 21:00 and no formal on-call requirement.

Qualifications

• NZMRTB registration with current Annual Practising Certificate in Ultrasound is required.
• Experience across general, vascular, upper abdominal, obstetric, gynaecological and musculoskeletal ultrasound.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills, with a commitment to patient-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a safe, high-quality ultrasound service within a clinical environment.
• Complete full ultrasound examinations and recommend appropriate techniques to support patient care.
• Rostered/rotating shifts with hours between 8:00 and 21:00, Monday to Sunday, with no formal on-call requirement.
