Job summary

Extrastaff is recruiting Construction Specialists for full-time, permanent roles across New Zealand. Positions are site-based with travel across regions and project locations. Successful candidates will interpret drawings, install frameworks, and ensure safety and quality on commercial and infrastructure sites.

NZ residency or valid work visa required; PPE and tools are provided. Roles offer guaranteed hours, with a nationwide deployment model and permanent employment prospects on major projects

Qualifications

• 2 years’ construction experience or a Level 4 qualification.
• NZ driver license or overseas equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to new environments.
• Experience on commercial, infrastructure, or civil construction projects preferred.
• Sound knowledge of health & safety procedures and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Construct, install and repair framework and finishes including formwork, framing, cladding and finishing elements.
• Cut materials, assemble and install doors, windows, cladding, insulation, linings and finishing elements.
• Construct concrete formwork and assist in pouring concrete if required.
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding and access equipment per safety standards.
• Cover subfloors with building paper and lay hardwood or other finishes.
• Repair and maintain existing fittings.
• Load and unload materials and move them around sites.
• Work on rotating project sites across the country.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed.
