Job summary

Extrastaff Limited is seeking Trades Assistants to join our nationwide operations across New Zealand. Roles are full-time and permanent with minimum 30 hours per week, and depend on project requirements. You may be deployed across regions, with travel or relocation support offered on a case-by-case basis.

Ideal candidates are reliable, with good time management, a solid work ethic, and a willingness to learn. NZ residency or valid NZ work visa is required for deployment.

Qualifications

• One-year relevant experience or NZQF Level 1 equivalent preferred but not compulsory.
• Friendly, with good time management and excellent work ethic are essential.
• Commitment to learning and developing your skills in the industry.
• Sound knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.
• Reliable and hardworking.

Responsibilities

• View electrical layouts to determine the appropriate system and ensure compliance with electrical and fire codes.
• Install and test the system to ensure proper operation.
• Repair any system problems and replace defective parts.
• Work with the Leading Hand, Supervisor, or Manager to meet time, cost, and quality targets.
• Monitor progress and report delays or issues to the supervisor or manager.
• Conduct quality inspection within your area of responsibility.
• Adhere to safety objectives and seek guidance as needed.
• Collaborate as part of the marine team and wider organisation.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
