Job summary

Extrastaff Limited in New Zealand is seeking Trades Assistants to join our nationwide projects. Roles are full-time and permanent, with deployments across North and South Island as needed. PPE and tools are provided, and you should be organised, trustworthy and have good time management.

Applicants require NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa. A minimum of 30 hours per week is guaranteed, with travel or relocation support considered case by case.

Qualifications

• NZ residency or valid NZ work visa required.
• One year of relevant experience or NZQF Level 1 equivalent preferred.
• Friendly with good time management and strong work ethic.
• Commitment to learning and developing skills in the industry.
• Sound knowledge of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• View electrical layouts to determine the appropriate system and ensure compliance with electrical and fire codes.
• Install and test the system to ensure proper operation.
• Repair system problems and replace defective parts.
• Work with Leading Hand/Supervisor/Manager to meet programmed, time, cost and quality targets.
• Monitor progress and communicate delays or issues to the lead team.
• Perform quality inspections as per policies and procedures.
• Adhere to safety objectives and seek guidance when needed.
• Contribute as a member of the marine team and wider organisation.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned.
