Job summary

New Zealand Transport Agency (Waka Kotahi) seeks a National Manager Commercial Delivery to shape procurement and commercial support for a portfolio of major transport projects. Based in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington or Christchurch, you will lead a national team and influence sector performance and value for money.

You will embed commercial thinking across the project lifecycle, balancing risk, cost and delivery certainty while building trusted relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated senior leadership experience delivering outcomes in large, complex environments.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience in major infrastructure delivery, including procurement and contracting.
• Proven ability to influence at senior leadership level and build trusted relationships across stakeholders.
• Ability to translate strategy into practical priorities, plans and outcomes that improve performance.

Responsibilities

• Shape how a multi-billion-dollar transport portfolio is procured, contracted and commercially supported through delivery.
• Embed commercial thinking early in the project lifecycle to balance cost, risk and delivery certainty.
• Lead and grow the capability of the Commercial Delivery team and interact with sector partners and suppliers.
• Influence across the construction sector to improve efficiency, packaging, sequencing and capacity.
