Job summary

Armourguard is seeking a dedicated National Health & Safety Coordinator to facilitate development and implementation of EHS policies across Armourguard’s business, reporting to the Risk team. The role is based at the Auckland branch and will lead continuous improvement of EHS systems while providing expert advice and training.

You will drive safety performance through audits, investigations, KPI monitoring, and corrective actions, while ensuring regulatory compliance and effective injury

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Environment, Health & Safety coordination, advisory, or management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS legislation, compliance requirements, and risk management practices.
  • Exceptional communication, training, and engagement skills.
  • Experience conducting audits, incident investigations, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities with the ability to identify trends and drive improvement initiatives.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with a passion for creating safer workplaces.
  • Experience in Security Industry.
  • Holds relevant Health and Safety qualifications.
  • Must hold a full, current and valid New Zealand Driver's License.
  • Must pass all relevant background and vetting checks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate EHS advice and support to all Armourguard businesses.
  • Develop, review, and implement EHS policies, standards, procedures, and compliance.
  • Drive safety performance through audits, investigations, reporting, KPI monitoring, and corrective actions.
  • Deliver EHS training and support local EHS Coordinators to promote best practice across the business.
  • Analyse incident data and prepare reports to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Support injury management, return-to-work programmes, and ACC/workers' compensation processes.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, fire evacuation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and report on workplace incidents, vehicle accidents, and other EHS performance metrics.
  • Coordinate national EHS meetings, prepare presentations and minutes, and contribute to executive reporting.
