Job summary

OneStaff in New Zealand is seeking a Multi-Skilled Operator for civil construction projects in the Waitaki region. You will operate a range of construction plant and support civil crews to keep projects on track.

This long-term role offers ongoing training and career progression within a safety-focused, supportive team. NZ-based applicants with a valid driver licence are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience operating excavators and civil construction plant.
• Previous civil construction experience.
• NZ Class 4 Driver Licence preferred with W, T and R endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and a range of construction plant.
• Carry out drainage, roading and general civil construction work.
• Complete daily plant checks and basic maintenance.
• Accurately complete job documentation, timesheets and site records.
• Maintain health, safety and environmental standards on site.
• Support site crews and supervisors to deliver projects on time and to specification.
• Maintain equipment and report faults promptly.

About the Role

As a Multi-Skilled Operator, you'll play an important role in delivering civil construction and maintenance works safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You'll operate a range of construction plant while assisting with general civil works as required to keep projects running smoothly.

Key responsibilities include:

• Operating excavators and a variety of construction plant
• Carrying out drainage, roading and general civil construction work
• Completing daily plant checks and basic maintenance
• Accurately completing job documentation, timesheets and site records
• Working safely while maintaining high health, safety and environmental standards
• Supporting site crews and supervisors to deliver projects on time and to specification
• Maintaining equipment and reporting faults promptly

About You

You'll be reliable, hardworking and enjoy working as part of a team. You'll also have:

• Experience operating excavators and a variety of civil construction plant
• Previous experience in civil construction
• A Class 4 Driver Licence preferred
• W, T and R endorsements (or willingness to obtain them)
• A commitment to producing quality workmanship
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• The ability to work independently and use initiative
• A strong commitment to health and safety
