Overview

Higgins are seeking a multiskilled Operator/Driver to join the Maintenance Crew on the local road maintenance contract for Horowhenua District Council. Based out of our Levin branch, you will be responsible for transporting mobile plant and equipment to various sites and carrying out road maintenance work. This includes operating machinery such as excavators, rollers, and brooms. Additionally, you may be involved in transporting aggregate and materials to site using an 8 to 10-ton truck.

What You’ll Bring To The Role
  • Appropriate licences - Class 2+ WTR are a must; ideally you will have a class 4 or 5.
  • Previous experience in a similar role driving heavy trucks & operating a range of plant.
  • Familiarity with manual Roadranger gearboxes is essential.
  • Willing to be hands on and support your team with a variety of tasks.
  • Strong focus on health and safety for yourself, your colleagues, and the public.
  • Flexible, committed and reliable – will turn up rain or shine.
  • Passion for the industry and willingness to work hard and learn.
