Job summary

Bella Vista Motel Franz Josef Glacier is seeking a motivated housekeeper for the summer season starting in September. You will work as part of a friendly team to keep rooms clean and well presented.

Hours are typically 9am–2pm, 5–6 days a week, with reception duties 2pm–6pm; minimum 15 hours weekly rising to 30–40 during peak times, at a starting rate of NZD 25 per hour. A caravan accommodation option is available at a shared cost.

Responsibilities

• Strip and clean motel rooms, make beds, vacuum and mop floors; general housekeeping tasks.

Job description

Bella Vista Motel Franz Josef Glacier is an 18-room motel located in the central Franz Josef Glacier township, within walking distance of supermarkets, activity providers, and restaurants. We are looking for a passionate person to join the housekeeping team for the summer season starting in September.

To succeed in the role, you will be able to work efficiently with attention to detail, provide good customer service, be fluent in English, be a good team player, and have a valid NZ working visa as well as an active IRD number.

Housekeeping Job including but not limited to stripping off rooms, making beds, general cleaning of motel rooms, vacuuming and mopping floors, etc. Work hours are normally between 9 am and 2 pm, 5 to 6 days a week. Reception hours are from 2 pm to 6 pm, duties including checking in guests, providing local travel advice, answering phone calls and email enquiries, laundry duties, etc.

15 hours a week minimum; with reception hours, you would be looking at 30 hours a week and could go up to 40 hours during busy season for the right capable person. Starting rate from $25 per hour (Minimum wage during training period).

• Caravan available for accommodation with a shared bathroom and toilet at a small weekly cost to cover general expenses.
