Job summary

Riverhead Montessori is seeking a passionate and dedicated kaiako to join our warm, welcoming and collaborative team. This full-time, permanent position is based in our 3 to 6-year-old preschool classroom, offering an opportunity to contribute to a child-led, Montessori-inspired programme.

You will work with tamariki and whānau, plan and document learning, and support staff within Te Whāriki principles and our outdoor, nature-forward environment.

Qualifications

• Holds a recognised New Zealand ECE teaching qualification.
• Current NZ teacher registration and practising certificate.
• Confident in programme planning, assessment and documentation.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.
• Interest in Montessori education; Montessori experience welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging and meaningful learning experiences for tamariki.
• Contribute fresh ideas to programme planning and curriculum development.
• Build warm, respectful relationships with tamariki and whānau.
• Support and mentor other members of the teaching team.
• Contribute to a programme grounded in Te Whāriki and Montessori principles.
