Job summary

Mitre 10 Waihi is hiring a Customer Experience Zone Team Member to join our busy hardware store team. The role is 31.5 hours per week with shifts between 7:00am and 6:00pm, including one weekend day. You will deliver friendly checkout service, process transactions, keep the area tidy, and assist across the store when needed.

We value a positive attitude, good communication, and reliability. Training is provided, and pre-employment drug & alcohol screening is required for successful

We're looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Customer Experience Zone Team Member to join our team. If you enjoy meeting new people, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and love helping customers, we'd love to hear from you.

About the role

Rosters will be published at least two weeks in advance to provide clear notice of your scheduled shifts. You will be rostered for your contracted weekly hours, however your days and start/finish times may vary and will include one weekend day.

Shifts will be scheduled between 7:00am and 6:00pm, so applicants must have availability across these hours.

What you’ll be doing:

• Delivering outstanding customer service at the checkout, ensuring every customer leaves with a positive impression
• Processing transactions accurately and confidently using a variety of payment methods
• Maintaining a tidy, organised, and welcoming checkout area
• Supporting the wider store team during busy periods and assisting customers across the store when required

What we’re looking for:

• A friendly, positive attitude and genuine passion for customer service
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a wide range of customers
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions
• Flexibility and willingness to support different areas of the business
• Previous retail or customer service experience is desirable but not essential
• A reasonable level of physical fitness, including the ability to stand for extended periods and safely handle products when required
