Job summary

Riviera Hardware Holdings Ltd, operating Mitre 10 MEGA Silverdale, is seeking an Outdoor Living Team Member to assist customers with seasonal range including outdoor furniture, BBQs, and camping gear. This full-time role combines customer service, merchandising and stock handling.

You will work a fixed roster, may include late nights (up to 7pm), early mornings (from 7am), and at least one weekend day. No two days are the same in this fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or customer-facing role preferred.
• Interest in outdoor living, furniture, BBQs, or seasonal products helpful.
• Willingness to learn new products, systems and processes.
• Confidence communicating with customers and providing helpful service.
• Availability to work a full-time roster, including weekends, early starts and late finishes.
• Forklift licence preferred or willingness to learn.

Riviera Hardware Holdings Ltd is the largest group within the Mitre 10 network and is proudly Kiwi-owned and operated. Since opening our first store in Warkworth in 2009, we have grown to operate four Mitre 10 MEGA stores in Albany, New Lynn, Silverdale and Warkworth, alongside Mitre 10 Whangaparaoa. Opened in 2023, Mitre 10 MEGA Silverdale is a modern, purpose-built MEGA store with specialist Trade, Hardware and Garden departments. As a full-range store serving a fast-growing community, no two days are the same.

About the Role

• As an Outdoor Living Team Member, you'll support customers across our Seasonal range, including heating and cooling products, outdoor furniture, BBQs, camping gear, and related accessories.
• This role combines customer service, merchandising and stock handling, so it's just as much about how you support customers as it is about how the department looks and performs.
• This is a full-time position, working across a fixed roster which may include some late nights (up to 7pm), some early mornings (from 7am), and some weekends (at least one weekend day).

What You'll Bring

• Previous experience in retail, sales, or a customer-facing role is preferred, but we're equally interested in people with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
• An interest in outdoor living, furniture, BBQs, or seasonal products would be beneficial
• A willingness to learn new products, systems and processes
• Confidence communicating with customers and providing helpful service
• A forklift licence preferred (or a willingness to learn — we'll support you if you have a full driver's license)
• A reliable, positive approach to work — you consistently show up and get stuck in
• Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining standards
• Availability to work a full-time roster, including weekends and some early starts/late finishes
• A reasonable commute to Silverdale and reliable transport
