Job summary

Mitre 10 Papamoa is recruiting a Kitchen Designer Team Member for our brand-new MEGA store opening in Papamoa East in October 2026. This full-time role covers 30–40 hours per week across 3–5 days, including one weekend day, working across showrooms and departments.

You will support the kitchen design department, collaborate with the Retail Manager to improve stock and inventory, and ensure customers receive outstanding service while fostering a positive team culture.

Qualifications

• Eye for kitchen design and aesthetic sense.
• Experience with kitchen and bathroom design projects.
• Retail supervisory experience in a hardware or home improvement store.
• Customer-focused with clear communication.
• Attention to detail in presentation, ticketing and store standards.
• Adaptable and eager to learn new product ranges.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a busy workload.
• Sales-minded with a customer-centric approach.
• Teamwork across departments and a positive attitude.

As we prepare for this exciting new chapter, we’re now recruiting a Kitchen Designer Team Memberto join our new store across our showrooms, hardware, paint, seasonal, and power garden departments. A bit about you…You’ll bring:

• An eye for kitchen design
• Previous experience with kitchen bathroom designs
• Previous retail supervisory experience

• Customer focus and clear communication, with the ability to listen and understand customer needs
• Attention to detail in presentation and ticketing, and pride in maintaining store standards
• Adaptability and willingness to learn new product ranges and tasks
• Teamwork across departments, along with a reliable and proactive approach

• Strong organization skills and the ability to juggle a busy workload
• A friendly, confident and approachable communication style
• A proven sales mindset with a focus on understanding customer needs
• High energy, self-motivation and a strong work ethic

Kitchen design experience is an advantage, but not essential — we’re happy to teach the right person.
